When I was four, I became obsessed with writing when I got a gold star for my story about an intrepid little red sailboat on the crayon blue seas (you could be rewarded for being creative?! Sign me up!). As I grew up, I continued to hone my storytelling skills and eventually landed my first official marketing role as a media coordinator at a boutique PR agency when I was 18 years old.
Alas, I never developed a stomach for cold calling and live pitching media, so I left PR and did stints in event planning and journalism before making my home in the world of content marketing, where I wrote about SKUs as a web copywriter for Best Buy Canada before moving on to lead content marketing functions at QuickMobile and Visier.
As both an employee and a freelancer, I’ve built thought leadership campaigns, brought dynamic and multi-format stories to life, and led teams in companies that span the data and analytics, artificial intelligence, HR technology, mobile event management, fashion, and hospitality industries. I’ve had the privilege of working with startups, high growth organizations, and large enterprises, helping them with content strategy, writing, and/or fractional leadership.
What else am I passionate about? Working on my sixth novel, reading everything from fantasy to literary fiction, using the Oxford comma, finding new ways to exhaust my energetic and hilarious toddler, and trying new recipes in my tiny kitchen.
